美国《纽约时报》又披露中国总理温家宝家人与中国平安保险公司的关联之后，平安保险威胁要对“有关媒体”采取法律行动。

平安保险发表声明，指近期注意到个别媒体的报道，其中部分涉及平安保险的内容“严重失实”，并指报道采用“歪曲事实、断章取义的方式以及错误的逻辑，严重误导投资者和社会公众，给中国平安造成严重伤害”。

平安保险还说，将视报道对中国平安的伤害和影响，采取相应的法律行动。

平保发言人曾确认，声明所指的就是《纽约时报》的报道。

《纽约时报》发表了该报驻上海记者张大卫（David Barboza）的报道。

报道说，中国平安保险公司主席马明哲曾在1999年秋天向中国官员发出呼吁，要求政府对平安保险公司放宽实施在亚洲金融危机后发出的要求大型金融公司分割的规定。

在马明哲直接向当时的国务院副总理温家宝和中国人民银行行长戴相龙发出呼吁后，游说获得成功，平安保险没有被分割。

报道说，在政府做出有利于平安保险的决定8个月后，由温家宝家人控制的一个投资公司低价买入大量平安保险的股份。交易发生在其他投资者还不能购买平安股份的时候。

当法新社记者向平安保险核实马明哲当初同温家宝夫人张培莉会面的情况，该公司拒绝发表任何评论，但是说平安保险对股东的背景并不知情。

平安保险公司成为中国影响巨大的保险公司。

到2004年6月，温家宝家人所拥有的股份已经翻了两番。到2007年，由温家宝家人控制的Taihong公司最初所作的6500万美元投资已升值为37亿美元。
